Modern React applications are built with functional components and hooks. We design components to be small and reusable, keep side effects contained inside useEffect, and introduce a dedicated state management approach once an application has enough shared state across screens to need one — rather than reaching for one by default on every project. Unnecessary re-renders are one of the most common performance issues in React apps, and we use memoization and code-splitting where it makes a measurable difference.

A large share of the React work we do is the frontend for a SaaS product — authentication, subscription state, and role-based access built into the interface from the start. We also build the .NET APIs that sit behind these frontends most often, though we integrate with an existing backend just as readily when a client already has one.

We typically start by breaking a design into a component hierarchy before writing code — deciding which pieces of UI are reusable and where state should live. Components are built and tested against real or mocked API responses so frontend work isn't blocked while a backend is still being finished, and for projects where we're building both sides, we develop them in parallel rather than fully sequentially.
